What are Matched Audiences?

Matched Audiences is LinkedIn's targeting suite for reaching people you already know: website retargeting, contact and company list uploads, and engagement audiences. It brings first-party targeting to LinkedIn's otherwise attribute-based system.

Beyond job-title targeting

LinkedIn's core strength is firmographic targeting, but Matched Audiences adds first-party layers: retarget site visitors via the Insight Tag, upload target-account or contact lists for account-based work, and build audiences from people who engaged with your ads or page.

Where it fits

Contact and company lists power account-based marketing on LinkedIn; retargeting re-engages warm traffic at a lower cost than cold prospecting. As with any list, quality of the ICP input decides the output.

Common questions

What are LinkedIn Matched Audiences?

A set of first-party targeting options, website retargeting, contact and company list uploads, and engagement audiences, that reach people you already know rather than targeting by attributes alone.

Can you do account-based marketing on LinkedIn?

Yes. Upload a target-account or contact list as a Matched Audience to focus spend on named accounts, which is the backbone of ABM on LinkedIn.
